Wyoming Sunset

In the event you are new to the whole upset-woman thing, there a lot of not-so-apparent ways to determine if a woman is upset. So here’s one.

Last night a man’s wife walks in late from work with several hot dishes of Chinese.

“There’s Chinese if you want it,” she says to her husband.

He walks into the kitchen and opens the first dish. Pork and beef something. He opens the second dish. Chicken something. He opens the third dish, feeling bit like Goldilocks.

“Wow,” he says to himself, “Mu Shu! My favorite.” He unfolds a paper thin rice pancake, pours some sauce over it, then begins to serve some Mu Shu. Then he notices it has shrimp in it.

“Huh!!” he says out loud. He puts it back into the container and makes a spinach and mushroom omelette.

Oh, did I forget to say that he doesn’t eat meat. Yeah! That’s right.

“Did they make a mistake,” he asks her later, “and give you shrimp Mu Shu?”

“No,” she replies.

“Nice touch,” he whispers to himself.

He knows, she knows, he now knows she’s upset. ‘Nuf said.

“Nice touch” he chuckles to himself. Later in the evening all is well.

Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger. . . Ephesians 4:26

When we get angry, Apostle Pauls says it’s okay, but don’t let carry it long. I’ve always thought we were not to go to bed angry as we’d not sleep well. But I really think is has to do with not carrying today’s problems into tomorrow with us. When the sun sets it begins a new day. For those not familiar with the Hebrew calendar, the day begins after the sun goes down, and ends the following sundown.

Despite the things of the past that attempt to haunt us, and the things of the future out of our control that we spend hours worried about, we are designed to look at each day as a new day. And not just any new day, but a new day in which to reset and rejoice in the L-RD.

There’s an old praise song that goes, “This is the day that the L-RD has made. I will be glad and rejoice in it.”

Begin each day as the sun sets. Let the past slip away. Let the future be in the future. Rejoice in the L-RD always. All Ways.

Lord Bless, Keep, Shine. . .
